This
is a doe who be with us until the day she dies. Rainy is definitely a
farm favorite not only because of her conformation but because of her
sweet personality and her willingness to be worked with. This doe has
stunning general appearance and dairy character. If there wasn't a
person in the picture, she looks like a full size dairy goat. The
photos show her stength of topline and her levelness of rump as well as
levelness from thurl to thurl. Her udder has a strong medial, perfectly
plumb teats, good attachments all the way around, and a smooth, well
extended fore udder. She has very tight toes and dead on straight
hooves and legs. She could improve on her shoulder and front end
assembly but have already seen huge improvements in her kids. On top of
it all, all of her kids have proven to exhibit all of Rainy's wonderful
qualities and all love to be handled and shown.

Missy
is maturing as we've expected her to, and we were very impressed by her first freshening udder. She enjoys being shown and worked with which seems to be a
characteristic all of Rainy's kids carry. I love this doe's overall
angularity and angulation. She has a nice brisket extension and
levelness and length throughout. Her udder has excellent overall attachments, a strong medial and nice teat
size and placement. She's great to milk by hand because of her teat size and large orofices and she milks down to absolutely nothing. I am really loving the udders Dusty has been
putting on his offspring.

Padme
has become soo friendly after discovering treats and also has the
strangest, off-the-wall, most hilarious personality. I really like all
of the conformation characteristics this doe exhibits, but I'd like her
to be a little tighter in the elbow. She has wonderful length and
flattness of bone, overall dairy character, and she has a high, wide
rear udder with great side attachments and plumb, easy to milk teats
(her udder is white and her teats are black). Padme was a bit finicky
about being shown and who was showing her, but once she got the hang of
it, she began excelling greatly in the show ring. She easily received her AR star as a first freshener, and her 2008 daughter seems to be following closely in her footsteps.

Crystal
has quite a personality. She isn't a fan of farm visitors or those who
may challenge her number in the pecking order but knows when we need
her to get down to business. She's proven to be a great milker with a
nice textured udder with good capacity. She has great
length of body, sharp withers, and nice blending in her front end
assembly. Crystal would benefit from tighter elbows and a higher rear
udder attachment. All of Crystal's kids come out with very human-like personalities, but she has proven herself well enough to be the only brood doe here. While she doesn't seem to like the idea of being the only one without kids in spring, we will be breeding Crystal from now on (since she received her milking star) for fall kiddings. This way, we will have a constant supply of milk throughout winter in addition to all of the does freshening in early Spring.
